Doctors Nova Scotia Strive Award

Doctors know that being healthy starts, not in doctors’ offices, but at home, in the communities, towns and cities where Nova Scotians live. That’s why Doctors Nova Scotia, the medical association that represents the province’s physicians, developed the Strive Award: to recognize the role that community groups play in keeping populations healthy.

This year, Doctors Nova Scotia will donate $10,000 to a community group, to help them further develop their health-promotion initiatives.

These initiatives can include projects that promote healthy eating, physical fitness or mental health. They might include presenting events, working with city planners or lobbying government. Our province is diverse, and so are the community groups recognized by the Strive Award.

Community groups make a big difference in the health of Nova Scotians, and physicians want to support their hard work. Community groups are encouraged to apply here for the award before Jan. 6, 2017!
