Navigating Fall Challenges: Hurricane preparedness, Legislative action, and financial support

It’s hard to believe that Fall is just around the corner and, with that, comes hurricane season. Please make sure to be prepared for any bad weather that may be coming our way. Secure any loose items around your property and make sure your emergency kits are updated and intact.

The Fall also brings another session of the Legislative Assembly (and its own type of stormy weather). The session will begin on October 12, and I am ready to stand up for your priorities and voice your concerns on the floor of the Legislature.

If you have any issues or suggestions you would like me to address there, please reach out to my office. Your input is invaluable in shaping our legislative agenda.

As your Provincial MLA, it’s my privilege to keep you informed about important matters that affect our community. From what I have heard at doorsteps over the last few months, the most pressing issue is the rising cost of living.

I understand the challenges many of you face due to the increasing cost of essential goods and services, especially our seniors. Grants are available to help alleviate a small portion of these burdens. Two key programs to consider are the Seniors Care Grant and the Property Tax Rebate for Seniors. These programs aim to provide much-needed financial support to our residents.

If you need assistance with registration or have questions about these programs, please don’t hesitate to contact my office. I’m here to help you navigate the process and access the support you deserve. I know these grants aren’t helpful to all of you, and that is why it is a priority of mine to continue to advocate on behalf of our community for programs and services that help alleviate some of the financial burdens so many of us are facing.

Together, we can find solutions that work for our community.

Sincerely,
