Mar 12 – Nova Scotia Power – Emergency Operations Centre

Nova Scotia Power is activating its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at 8 p.m. tonight, in advance of a major winter storm.

Weather forecasts are calling for heavy, wet snowfall and high winds, beginning on Tuesday into the early morning hours on Wednesday. In preparation, we’re positioning powerline crews and forestry teams across the province, and we’re staffing up our Customer Care Centre. We continue to closely monitor weather forecasts, and in the meantime, we are beginning to stage crews throughout the province so that we can respond to customers as quickly as possible. Please see the attached Media Release for more details.

Throughout the storm, and until all customers have power restored we will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. We are encouraging everyone to be prepared. There are safety tips for review on our webpage – www.nspower.ca/stormready

As always, our number one priority remains the safety of our crews and customers. Our Customer Care Centre has been in touch with customers on our Critical Customer list. Please consider whether you have constituents who should add themselves to this list.

In the event of an outage, customers are encouraged to visit our outage page http://outagemap.nspower.ca for updates on estimated restoration times. They can also call our outage line 24/7 at 1-877-428-6004 or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
