HRM Council recognized the huge need for an assisted and accessible taxi service in Halifax and has partnered with “Senior’s Transit” a locally owned and operated company, to create “Extra Care Taxi”.
This new taxi service is available to those needing assistance like an arm or escort to and from door to cab, help carrying groceries and packages, or wheelchair transport.
Their service is the same cost as any metered taxi service in Metro Halifax but offers so much more. They cater to seniors, adults or children in wheelchairs, people with intellectual disabilities, people who are visually impaired or anyone needing assistance, safe and reliable transportation. All employees have cleared criminal and vulnerable person checks and are compassionate trained drivers.
