I’m happy to share some exciting news with you from District 10 Councillor Kathryn Morse. The long-awaited redevelopment of Dutch Village Road has officially been given the green light. This month, Regional Council unanimously approved additional funding for this significant project. Construction is set to begin in just a few weeks.
The work will start at the north end of Dutch Village Road, near Titus and Supreme Court, and progress south towards Westerwald over the course of the project. We’re not just talking about resurfacing the road – this is a complete transformation. Dutch Village Road will be regraded, rebuilt, and repaved, and the current nose-in parking spaces will be converted to parallel parking. With the addition of separated bike lanes and a much-needed sidewalk on the west side of the street.
But there’s more! Benches, street trees, and landscaping are also part of the plan, making Dutch Village Road not just safer but more enjoyable for everyone. This redevelopment is about improving safety for all users – pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, and drivers alike.
When the project is completed in 2025, Dutch Village Road will be a much-improved area for all of us who live, work, and travel through District 10.
